Number Searches, Sequences, and Puzzles

10 Jul

Today’s challenge is a variation on a word search puzzle.

Our brains seek out patterns to find the logic in what otherwise might look like chaos.     Words in a word search puzzle, create that logic.   When you do a word search puzzle you are relying on both your ability to remember and identify patterns.   In the exercise below you are not looking for logic but working on hard core memory.    Your goal is to find the number sequences listed below the puzzle.   We made the first one a bit easier — all the correct answers can be found on the diagonal and are listed from from left to right.

A Tricky Wednesday’s Word Puzzle: Pay Attention to the Details

This week’s word puzzle is a bit trickier.  Not only are you working on your language, memory, and recall skills but you are also working on 1) paying attention to and following directions, 2) following a sequence of events, and 3) finding patterns!  We presented the directions in 3 different ways so if 1 set does not make sense, move to the next set of directions!

Happy solving!

Wednesday’s Word Puzzle: Word Sequences

13 Mar

This week’s Word Game does not allow you to focus on just one brain process — you will have to think critically and problem solve using multiple processes all at once!  Playing word sequences is tough for a couple reasons.  First, you have to move the correct letters down to fill in pieces of the word below it — that means you must visually line up the letters and mechanically put the right letter in the appropriate spot.  Move the letters in the completed word to the open lines directly below — do not move letters from above into circles.   Next you must look at the clue and sort through a list of possible right answers in your memory.  Finally, based on the filled in letters and the number of remaining blank spaces you must choose from that list and write in the answer.   Fill the circles in with the letters that complete the appropriate word.  Step and repeat until you reach the end!    Click here if you want to see a sample!

Enjoy!
